Building Safer Communities – Social Skills Program
About the Program:
This new program has been designed using a variety of evidence-based programs such as PEERs and Social Thinking. As a group of 6-10 youth, we will discuss these topics and practice the skills necessary through roleplay, group discussions and asynchronous tasks to form friendships, self-advocate, and learn how to navigate social interactions. Students will also have the option to join a weekly virtual drop-in session where we can have a casual conversation about the topic explored during the week.
In this program, we will explore topics such as:
- Dating
- Boundaries & Consent
- Non-Verbal Communication
- Forming and Keeping Connections with Peers
- Healthy Relationships
