Why Volunteer with CDL?
Volunteering at CDL is more than just giving your time—it’s about making an impact. Whether you’re mentoring students, assisting with workshops, or supporting community events, your contribution helps us provide meaningful programs and resources for children and families. Program Volunteers
Commitment: 8-week sessions (Fall, Winter, Spring)
Our program volunteers work directly with children in our Leaps in Literacy or Mastering Mathematics, Executive Functioning and Social Skill programs. You’ll mentor students, guide them through engaging activities, and provide encouragement to help them build confidence and skills.
As a program volunteer, you will:
- Help facilitate hands-on, small-group learning.
- Foster a supportive environment where students feel valued.
- Gain meaningful experience working with neurodiverse children.
Requirements:
- Commitment to an 8-week program session.
- Two references and a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
Event Volunteers
Commitment: One-day or short-term opportunities
Join us for community events like summer festivals, BBQ fundraisers, or awareness campaigns. As an event volunteer, you’ll help create memorable experiences while raising awareness about CDL’s mission.
As an event volunteer, you will:
- Set up and manage activity booths.
- Engage with community members to share information about CDL.
- Assist with event logistics, from registration to clean-up.
Requirements:
- Two references and a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
- Impact: Directly support neurodiverse learners and their families.
- Community: Be part of a passionate and welcoming team.
- Skills: Build experience in teaching, event planning, and communication.
- Flexibility: Choose opportunities that fit your schedule.
- Recognition: Receive acknowledgment through events, newsletters, and social media shoutouts.
